Linux Systems Administrator
Challenging full-time permanent positions with ASANI Solutions, LLC. at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California supporting 250+ IT Professionals in a R&D environment.
The successful candidate will be a part of a team that administers a heterogeneous computing environment comprising of Solaris, Linux, Windows, and Macintosh systems and peripherals. Work and brainstorm in a team that supports approximately 250 researchers and administrative staff. This position is involved in many areas of support from installation, support and maintenance of Red Hat Linux servers and workstations, including the design and development of scripts and tools to assist with their maintenance. Ideal candidate will be motivated and clever in balancing between project requirements and NASA's strict security policies.
Candidate will work in multiple roles: build and maintain OS builds, develop and document internal tools, system/database administration, architect scalable systems for division use, assist product development teams to deploy and
support various third party applications.
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 5 years experience in related field
- Advanced knowledge of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
- Experience with Windows OS is a plus
- Cross platform integration of users' accounts, email, NFS, SVN and backup services
- Proficiency in UNIX scripting, Python, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Wiki, LDAP, Active Directory, Advanced YUM repository management
- Experience with VM, Cloud Computing and Cloud Storage Systems
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
Good writing communication skills and an easy-going personality are
essential. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate skills listed above during interview.
